GB U23 Selection. Lee Valley

Very happy with my weekend! I should point out that although I tweeted that 'on a side note I made the GB U23 team for the 5th year!' I am extremely happy to be a part of that team once again! I went into this weekend's race with a few different goals in mind though and as far at they go- I absolutely smashed it! I think that process-wise it has been my best race ever and it's a credit to the hard work I've put in over the winter with Marc Domenjo and Katie Warriner developing a style and a race plan which I feel very happy with!

This means I am selected to compete at the U23 World Championships in Brazil, and the U23 European Championships in Poland (subject to outcome of SNR selection). I'm getting excited already about the prospect of sitting on that start line in Brazil. I've been painfully close to the podium at the U23 World Championships in my two previous efforts so in this, my final year I can compete at that age level I am keen to give it my absolute best shot! If I race anything like I did this weekend then anything is possible.

Onwards to senior selection in 3 weeks time. The project going forwards has been fuelled by some good information from this race and three weeks is plenty of time to make some small gains with some high quality training. I'm confident that I'll be an ever stronger competitor this next time!
