GB Senior Selection 2015

It's taken me a little while to get round to putting my reflections from the selection series down on 'paper' but here it is:

What a journey! After a couple of small mistakes really put a downer on what was almost such a great first day and a touch in first runs on day two.. there I was, thinking 'here we go again'. The last couple of years at senior selection have seen me finish as first reserve by the painfullest of margins and I was scared at times that I was about to do the same again! Thankfully, with it all to do on 2nd runs of day 2 I produced the big performance that really changed the shape of my selection series. With that one run, I'd got my confidence back in my process and that bit of self-belief which is so necessary, and I also put myself in a commanding position for the final day!

C2 was also an interesting race series for us, we never really felt like we got going until the last day, but Greg and I did enough to secure ourselves a place on the senior team for the 4th year running!

This is my first time on the team in C1 and the first time in two categories which is going to present a new challenge this season. I've been in this situation before and produced some excellent performances in both boats, Prague World Cup 2012- double final, most notably. Here's to an exciting season ahead! So happy to put myself back on the map in C1!

Next stop -> Brazil!
