World Cup 4 - Seu d'Urgell

After a bit of a break in the international season, the world cup circuit headed to La Seu d'Urgell on the Spanish side of the Pyranees mountains.

The picturesque Catalan village was host to the Olympic Games Canoe Slalom events back in 1992 and has since cemented it's legacy as one of the best white water slalom courses in the world!

It's definitely a favourite of mine and I always enjoy my time there!

On this occasion I was particulary excited to get out there now I work with former Spanish team member turned British Canoeing coach Marc Domenjo. He flew out a little earlier than us to spend a bit of time at home but rejoined the team on day one of the training camp.

Marc was in his element all week and it deifnitely rubbed off on our group, good vibes all round!

I had a solid performance in the race finishing in the top 20 again... But I missed out on the top ten final again. Results are getting in the right direction. Just need to hold a full run together now! My run time included a very big time loss (with an epic refocus/B plan) so the raw pace is definitely there!

We're trying something a little different in the way I set up my equipment for next week in Pau, France so watch this space!

The priority remains the Senior World Championships in Lee Valley, London however. I will be at my peak there!

Watch that refocus here:
