SNR World Champs - 9th Place!

September 22, 2015

Well it's safe to say that I finished the season on a high! What a year it's been! First making the British Senior team in the C1 class for the first time, winning GOLD at the U23 World Championships in Brazil, and now backing that result up with a top ten finish at the Senior World Championships in Lee Valley!

I've loved every minute of racing our home World Championships. Lee Valley has had the most amazing buzz about the place and the opportunity to race in front of such a big home crowd was an experience that I will remember forever! I had to work so hard to contain my excitement and turn it into a sharp focus when I was on the startline.

9th place at my first Senior World Championships (top ten in the world!) is a result that I am extremely proud of, and to race that final in the company of athletes I have looked up to for years was pretty special. I think the weather definitely helped too!

It's time for a short break before refocussing ready for GB selection for the 2016 season. Now I've stepped back up to the level of making a Senior final it's time to push on and make that a consistent feature of the 2016 season!
