Last weekend saw the first real test of 2016 for most British paddlers. Lee Valley, our Olympic 2012 venue with all team athletes present for a BIG startline and the added excitement of the selection events for the under-18 and under-23 British teams!
Our race format over the weekend saw 2 separate races, one Saturday and one Sunday with athlete's best run to count from two.
I'm feeling very happy with the shape I am in going into the international season after taking the honours on Sunday! Courses were technically difficult both days and included lots of moves on my offside which I think I took on and executed with style as one of the only left handers in the field.
Also, a big thanks to everybody who came to chat about my winter adventures and complimented me on the content I've been posting. I'll do my best to keep my social media on point especially with the international season and more travels just around the corner!
Next up we move on as a team to Liptovsky Mikulas in Slovakia for a two week training camp and a race (Liptov International Slalom) ahead of our European Championships campaign back at that venue mid-May.
